Our Five Favourite Productivity Resources

Five Free Productivity Resources

We’ll admit it, there are times when it can be hard to focus at a shared office or workspace! Members are coming and going, entrepreneurs are meeting with clients and your favourite creatives are catching up with weekend news. While we love when our members can connect, we also want our members to make the most of their coworking experience, and that includes getting work done!

Whether you’re a small business owner, a student or someone working on an incredible idea, these five productivity resources will help you make the most of your work time at your local coworking space. Janelle, our Community Manager personally tested and tried each of these resources. They’re easy to use without costing an arm and a leg!

Shift productivity resource for email

Reasons Janelle loves Shift on her desktop:

– “With Shift I can easily “shift” from one work space to another without having to constantly shift accounts.”

– “As a small business owner who also holds down a few part time jobs, I love shift because I can have all my email accounts on the same desktop and can easily move from one account to another.”

– “I don’t spend nearly as much time clicking through tabs as I used to.”

Reasons Janelle loves the Forest app:

– “I’m highly motivated to not let me little sprout die! The app keeps me from checking my phone for notifications when really I should be focused on my work.”

– “This app also supports the environment through planting trees. Users can use coins earned to help plant real tress.”

– “It’s a visually beautiful way for me to mindfully reduce screen time.”

Reasons Janelle loves tracking time with Toggl Track:

– “Toggl shows me how many times in one work day I stop working on projects due to interruptions. I can categorize these interruptions and looking back on the data after a month helps me address these issues!”

– “You do need to build the routine of mindfully turning the app on and off. If you forget to turn the app off when you walk away from your workstation, it’s easy to adjust later.”

– “I can send detailed reports to clients showing how time was spent working on their project.”

Feedly

Reasons Janelle loves research with Feedly:

– “As a Political Science student I used Feedly to help me stay up to date with articles from my favourite news sources without having to check each site daily.”

– “Now that I’m no longer a student, I use Feedly to stay up to date with articles specific to my industry.”

– “I can send detailed reports to clients showing how time was spent working on their project.”

Notion Logo

Reasons Janelle loves to take notes with Notion:

– “I’m an ideas person and Notion helps me keep lists of my ideas organized in one place.”

– “Notion has guides and templates that help me figure out how I should organize my ideas.”

– “With notion it’s easy to share my ideas or work in a presentable format, instead of just copying and pasting from the notes app on my phone.”
